Visas are not required for stays under 60 days in Thailand. Longer stays do require a visa and business travelers must have a visa. Yellow fever vaccination may be required for some travelers.

If you are planning to stay in Thailand for under 60 days a visa is not required. But, you should have a passport and proof of onward travel for entry.

If you are planning on staying for more than 60 days, a visa is required. The application process and documents needed may differ depending on the type of visa you’re interested in obtaining.

Generally, a passport, passport-style photo and travel itinerary are some of the documents required for a visa.

Visa fees for Thailand can vary based on length of stay and number of entries. It is not uncommon for visa fees to be $200 or more. This does not include the cost of service fees, postage or other related items that are no the visa itself.

Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required if arriving from a region where yellow fever is present. This may also apply to individuals who have recently visited a region with the infection.

A variety of other vaccinations are recommended for travelers. These include typhoid, cholera and other vaccinations.
